Everyone Else Seems to Have a Plan
You Can Too.
When you're choosing a college, figuring out your career, or making a professional change, you may feel overwhelmed—unsure where to begin or how to move forward.
You aren't alone. I hear this from high school seniors, college graduates, and professionals of all ages.
That's where I come in. But I don't work like other advisors.
I do strategic diagnostic work to learn your goals, then investigative research most advisors don't do, such as calling program directors, gauging job outlook, pulling actual open jobs, and securing academic or career resources you didn’t know existed.
As a communication professor, I know how to re-story your background—whether you have decades in one field or limited traditional experience.
You get deliverables, not suggestions: pathway reports with researched options, timelines, professional documents, and tools to continue the work yourself.
I'm also honest. If a path has limited prospects, I'll tell you—but I won't leave you stuck. I research viable alternatives.
With 25 years in higher education, I can navigate these systems fast. I've guided hundreds through academic and career transitions—whether you're just starting out or starting over.
My Background
I'm a 21-year tenured professor and advisor at Highline College, where I carry a full caseload of academic & career advisees. For four years, I held the same role at Darton College (University of Georgia system) and earned Advisor of the Year.
This gives me insider access most consultants don't have: I know how academic systems work, I can call program directors directly and get real answers, and I know how to navigate policies fast. As a communication professor, I also know how to ask strategic questions, listen to what advisees say… and what they don’t.
I also know what it's like to be stuck. I'm a first-generation college student who dropped out, fell into the wrong career, and had to find my way back.
